Sunday, June 28th 2009／Start of Race: 9:30
From this year, registration of participating athletes will be possible either on the afternoon of Saturday, June 27th or on the morning of the event Sunday, June 28th. Participants, who have completed the registration on Saturday do not need to register on the day of the event at the swim venue. These athletes should come to the opening ceremony on the morning of the event. (For further details please refer to your Confirmation of Registration).

Swim: Senami Onsen Beach - official venue for the 2009 Tokimeki Niigata National Sports Festival Triathlon;
Bicycle: Senami Onsen Beach along the seaside line of Sasagawa Nagare;
Run: Senami Onsen Beach to Central Murakami
Goal: Murakami City Hall Square

Race Distances

Total: 51.5 km
Swim: 1.5 km (2 circuits)
Bicycle: 40 km
Run: 10 km

Elite Entry Competition: Male

Elite Entry Competition: Race with drafting permitted
International Entry Competition: Race with drafting not permitted

Rules of competition

Official rules issued by JTU (Japan Triathlon Union),
ITU (International Triathlon Union) and local rules of Murakami
International Triathlon apply;

Limitation of number of participants

Elite Entry Competition: 100 athletes
International Entry Competition: 600 athletes
Team Entry: 30 teams

Qualification for participation

・Athletes over the age of 15 (High school students and above; athletes between the age of 15 and 19 require permission of a legal guardian);
・Athletes, female and male, able to finish the Triathlon within the required time limits;
・Athletes registered with the JTU;
・Entry for the Elite Competition is limited to JTU endorsed athletes; athletes who are recommended by the organizers; outstanding non-Japanese athletes;

Pariticipation fees

��As for the application, a participation fee is 1,000 yen discount from the Internet.

・Elite Entry Competition: 12,000 Yen
・International Entry Competition Female: 12,000 Yen
・International Entry Competition Male: 18,000 Yen
・International Entry Competition Students: 14,000 Yen
・Team Entry Competition: 24,000 Yen (per team)

・Elite Entry Competition: top 3 participants (male & female);
・International Entry Competition: top 3 participants (male & female);
・Japan Women’s Age Groups Championships / International Entry Competition (age groups) female (JJ-II) top 3 participants
・International Entry Competition (age groups) male: top 3 in every group; (J: 15-19 years, A: 20 – 24 years, B: 25-29 years, C: 30 – 34 years, D: 35-39 years, E: 40 – 44 years, F: 45-49 years; G: 50 – 54 years; H: 55 – 59 years, I 60 – 64 Years; Z: over 65 years)
・Team Entry Competition: top 3 teams;
・Inter-Team Competition: top 3;
・2008 Niigata Prefecture Triathlon Championship: Overall Winner (1 female & 1 male)

Additional prizes

1 overnight voucher for a stay in a hotel in Senami Onsen (Senami Spa) etc.

・Press conference for the athletes participating in the Elite Entry Competition

Sunday, June 28th 2009 at Senami Onsen Beach, swim venue

7:30 – (time to be announced)

◆ Registration on the day of event
・Check of tattoo seal (body number) of Elite Entry Competition participants
・The ankle band for time measurement will be issued to athletes directly before the swim start;
・The swim/water check for participants of the International Entry Competion and Team Entry will be held directly before the swim start, at the time of issuing of the ankle bands. Please be responsible for confirmation of your race number.
・All clothes willl be transported to the finish, so please leave them at the designated place for luggage at the event site.

・Team Entry: top 3 teams

◆End of event
・Please feel free to use the shuttle bus, to return to the swim venue.
・You can pick up the bikes any time after 13:00.
